The house was built in 1827 by Innkeeper William Dunton. It was once an old tavern and hotel on the stagecoach route in Tuscaloosa. It is one of last nineteenth-century inns that remain in the state of Alabama. The house was moved 3 blocks from its old location to Capitol Park.Tuscaloosa Alabama Museum, Free Admission
