administered by 3 districts – Talladega, Shoal Creek and Oakmulgee., 245-acre of wilderness, Highest point in Alabama at 2,407 feet, Home of Alabama's Oldest State Park Cheaha State Park. The Cheaha Wilderness area is 7,245-acres. Dugger Mountain 9,200 acres. with the second highest peak at an elevation of 2,140 feet. The Talladega National Forest consist of 392,567 acres and is located in the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains.

Chinnabee Silent Trail, Lake Shore Trail, Cave Creek Trail , Nubbin Creek Trail , Odum Scout Trail , Pinhoti Trail , Skyway Loop Trail , The Pinhoti Trail is one of the best trails in Alabama and offers one of the best hikes you can tackle in the southeast. The Pinhoti Trail is a Southern Region Appalachian Trail Connector. The Pinhoti National Recreation Trail is 170.7 miles in Alabama and in Georgia (167.8 miles). The Pinhoti Trail intersects with the Benton MacKaye Trail near Blue Ridge Georgia which connects to the famous Appalachian Trail.
