The Lake Guntersville State Park Trail system has 36 miles of multi-use trails. Many of the trails are not maintained for mountain biking but some great biking can be found around the park. We found a great service road to ride near the state park main entrance. This road is listed as Martling Gap but is gated, if you ride from this gate you will come to King Hill Cemetery on the right. I was able to ride up on a huge buck with velvet just past the cemetery to the right. Another great ride in the area is the Simp Mckee Bain -Samuel Gordon Culbert Horse Trail. Expect some rough riding, loose rocks, and huge ruts on this trail. This is not really a Mountain Bike trail but I thought it was an awesome ride with some steep dangerous hills. About a mile in you will come to the backwater with some great views of cliffs and backwater. This is well worth the effort if enjoy a tough ride!
